Team 11 learn traditional Korean origami

Last week Hannah and Soyoung taught Team 11 how to make a traditional female and male outfit using some origami paper they bought in.  It was hard work making the outfits, but Hannah and Soyoung made it look soo easy!      Hannah teaching the boys.

There's been a lot of discussion, teamwork, voting and korero  within Team 11, but we are proud to present our classroom Treaty,  or as we call it;  the Team 11 Cleaty!

What a camp! It's hard to sum up 4 amazing days with amazing students,  awesome adults,  spectacular teachers  and staff,  so I have made this movie for you to sit back,  relax and enjoy. Please feel free to leave a comment!

SURVIVAL ...

We survived!! Teams 8, 9 & 10 all headed off in the long journey to survival.  It took us a long time to get there and it was hard work carrying our black sack  and survival bag, but it was worth the effort!! Check out all the awesome activities we did: Jackpot Waterspout game Gumboot throw Lighting a fire using a flint stone Cooking marshmallows And... the MUD RUN!!

GEMS Challenge Day - Station 3 & 4

Station 3: The ground is lava! Aim: Get your team across,without talking, from one end of the playground to the other without touching the ground.       Station 4:  Get your team of frogs from one end to the other with 8 lily pads. The ground is full of crocodiles so you can't touch it!!       ...and last but not least we got to cool down with a bit of a hosing!

Year 6 GEMS Challenge Day

The Year 6 Team spent the morning and middle block working together to complete various team challenges.  It was hot, hard but lots of fun as we stepped out of our comfort zone and challenged ourselves using the Sunnyhills GEMS values to encourage and support us.  Station 1: Blind minefield... To get a blindfolded buddy across the mindfield without touching any of the mines/obstacles.       Station 2:  Human knot & Hoop relay Human knot Aim: Learners cross arms and need to untangles without letting go. Race other team. 2.Hoop Relay Aim: Learners need to link arms in a circle and get the hoop from the starting person, round the circle before the other team.
